Residents living in Brockton Apartments at 250 Lake St. in St. Catharines once again supported Community Care of St. Catharines & Thorold with the building's annual toy drive. Now in its eighth year, the annual collection coincides with the Christmas party for the residents at the building. Typically, about 100 people attend the party each year and bring a toy for Community Care. Niagara Regional Police help out each year by bringing vehicles to help transport the items to Community Care, and Santa Claus also made an appearance at the party this year. Building superintendent Larry Williams said they typically donate about $2,000 to $3,000 worth of toys on average each year. Westdale Properties, which owns the building, also provides financial support, donating money to help get the toy drive started each year.
